Deutsch: Hauptfassade bzw. Südansicht der Kirche am Steinhof, auch Leopoldskirche bezeichnet, auf dem Gelände des „Sozialmedizinischen Zentrums Baumgartner Höhe“ im 14. Wiener Gemeindebezirk Penzing und das Leopold-Steiner-Denkmal.
Die Kirche wurde von 1904 bis 1907 über dem traditionellen Grundriss eines griechischen Kreuzes nach Plänen des Architekten Otto Wagner als Anstaltskirche errichtet. Sie ist der bedeutendste Sakralbau der Wiener Moderne in Wien. Das Steiner-Denkmal entstand 1907 und zeigt den späteren Landeshauptmann von Niederösterreich, der die Bauoberleitung der Spitalsanlage, inklusive der Anstaltskirche, inne hatte. |
